Reiter: Knicks owner 'cautiously optimistic' Jackson will accept offer

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:59 p.m. ET

Knicks owner James Dolan is "cautiously optimistic" that Phil Jackson will accept a front-office position with the team, FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Bill Reiter reports.

ESPN reported Tuesday that the deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the week.

Jackson, who last coached the Lakers in 2011, won 11 titles during his coaching career with the Bulls and Lakers. Jackson was passed over by the Lakers in 2012 to return as coach.

Jackson spent the first 10 years of his 12-year playing career with the Knicks, helping them win their only two titles in 1970 and '€™73.
