Casey is coming of the best season of his five with the Raptors, having led Toronto to a 56-26 record and a berth in the Eastern Conference finals. The 59-year-old is 210-184 with the Raptors after going 53-69 with the Timberwolves from 2005-07.
He had been signed through the 2016-17 season, but the money reportedly was not guaranteed. Earlier this week general manager Masai Ujiri telegraphed the extension.
“Coach Casey’s our coach for the future,” Ujiri told reporters “That’s very easy for us to figure out. That will be done in our sleep."
