Raptors assign Caboclo, Nogueira to new Toronto D-League team (VIDEO)

The Toronto Raptors officially have their own D-League affiliate, the Raptors 905, and it didn't take long for the big squad to send players from the main roster next door. The Raptors have the luxury of a D-League team in the same city as their NBA squad, something that's true for only a few other squads.

It makes it easy to shuffle players back and forth, which should benefit young guys Lucas Nogueira and Bruno Caboclo. And in fact, both players were sent to Raptors 905 for the team's second and third games. While the team is 0-3 so far, the bigger picture is clear: Nogueira and Caboclo are the focus of development in the D-League.

Caboclo, in fact, scored 25 points in the Raptors 905's Sunday loss:

It's a good opportunity for two players who had combined for six total minutes this season for the NBA Raptors. Raptors 905 face the Maine Red Claws, the affiliate of the Boston Celtics, on Thursday.
