Pistons to wear Ben Wallace Stance socks for his jersey retirement

Detroit Pistons players will honor legendary big man Ben Wallace by wearing special edition Stance socks with his likeness on them when the franchise retires his No. 3 jersey against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday:

Stance is the official sock of the NBA, and the two have partnered up to bring a variety of funky and interesting socks this season. If you donned a blue-and-red No. 3 Pistons jersey or a fake afro in the mid-00s to be like Big Ben, the inner child in you will probably want these.

Wallace averaged 6.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.4 steals in 655 career games with the Pistons. He helped the team win the 2004 championship and won four Defensive Player of the Year awards between 2002 and 2006.

Wallace is certainly one of the most iconic players in the franchise's history, as his underdog story (he was undrafted) and blue-collar work ethic and grit embodied Detroit's ethos. Most importantly, he had a sweet afro that helped him stand out on the floor.

Of course, the fact that the Pistons (21-18) are playing the Warriors (37-3) means Wallace's night might be spoiled. Who knows, though, maybe Detroit can channel its inner Wallace and lock up the flashy team with a loaded starting lineup.
