Pistons sign Lucas to 10-day contract

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) The Detroit Pistons have signed guard John Lucas III to a 10-day contract.

The Pistons announced the move Monday. Detroit needed extra depth after losing point guard Brandon Jennings to a ruptured Achilles tendon late last month.

Lucas joins the Pistons after spending the season in China with the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association. He averaged 26.6 points there in 26 games.

Lucas has spent parts of six seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz.
