Pelicans' Tyreke Evans undergoes surgery on his right knee

Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans plays with reckless flair. He bowls into the lane as much as any guard in the league, and, despite only missing three games in the regular season, is nearly always playing through one injury or another.
On Thursday, the organization announced that Evans underwent surgery on his right knee. According to the official press release, he has no timetable for a return to the court but one will be announced in the "near future."
As, arguably, New Orleans' second-best player since Anthony Davis was drafted, Evans' health is important for the team next season. While his outside shooting and off-ball defense leave much to be desired, Evans showed improvement as a playmaker last year. He's guaranteed approximately $20.9 million over the next two seasons.
