Pelicans expect Anthony Davis (shoulder) to miss two weeks

The New Orleans Pelicans say Anthony Davis is expected to be out up to two weeks because of a right shoulder sprain, while fellow forward Ryan Anderson is expected to miss up to four weeks with a right knee sprain.

Davis, an All-Star who averages 23.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game, left Saturday night's victory at Miami in the first quarter after a collision under the basket with Hassan Whiteside.

Davis had only recently returned from a right shoulder sprain that caused him to miss two regular-season games and the All-Star game.

Anderson's knee buckled in the second quarter in Miami when Mario Chalmers stepped on his ankle as the two pursued a rebound. Anderson averages 14.6 points.

The Pelicans host Toronto on Monday night.
