Pelicans agree to partially-guaranteed deal with Sean Kilpatrick

Kilpatrick's deal is only guaranteed $50,000 for the upcoming season, but that's not the most interesting part of it. 

Thanks to the fact that he signed a 10-day contract with the Timberwolves last season -- a deal he got simply because he was in the area when Minnesota needed a healthy player to have the minimum number available for a game against the Knicks -- he'll earn a second year player's minimum salary if he ends up making the roster.

The New Orleans Pelicans signed free agent guard Sean Kilpatrick to a two-year partially guaranteed contract on Thursday.

Undrafted in 2014, Kilpatrick played in four games with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season and averaged 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists. Kilpatrick spent most of the 2014-15 season playing in the NBA Development League with the San Cruz Warriors and Delaware 87ers.

Kilpatrick played on the Milwaukee Bucks' summer league team in Las Vegas in July.He was a four-year player at the University of Cincinnati.
