Pacers' West reportedly declines player option, becomes free agent

Add David West to the growing list of free agents.

The veteran Indiana Pacers power forward will not exercise a $12.6 million player option, according to the Indianapolis Star.

West, a two-time NBA All-Star in Indiana, has helped the Pacers to two Eastern Conference finals appearances in four seasons with the team.

West, who turns 35 in August, has seen his scoring average dip each of the past two seasons. He averaged just 11.7 points last season, his fewest since his second year in the league.

West has averaged 15.5 points and 7.2 rebounds during his 12-year career.
