Pacers' George Hill helps donate 5,000 backpacks to kids in need (PHOTOS)
Back-to-school season is drawing near for parents and students all around the country. It's a time of mixed emotions, as summer ends and it's back to the old grind. And it remains a sad fact that far too many families are unable to send their children to school prepared to learn, grow and reach their maximum potential.
Indiana Pacers guard George Hill helped do something about that over the weekend, as he took part in a drive to fill 5,000 backpacks with school supplies for local students. The Pacers shared a photo gallery of Hill doing work -- and taking a minute to sign a couple of autographs while encouraging kids to be active and healthy, too.
Check out all of the cool photos from Hill's community outreach over the weekend. It's part of what makes the Pacers and the NBA so fantastic.
