Northern Arizona Suns to Hold Open Tryouts
The Northern Arizona Suns, the Phoenix Suns’ new D-League team, will be holding two separate open tryouts for the inaugural team.
Formerly the Bakersfield Jam, the NAZ Suns will now be located in Prescott, Arizona. The season will begin November 12th, and the team will play in the Prescott Valley Event Center.
The first tryout will be in Phoenix at Talking Stick Resort Arena on September 18th, beginning at 9 am. That tryout is limited to 80 people.
The second tryout will be at the Prescott Valley Event Center (where the NAZ magic will happen), starts at 9 am as well, and is limited to just 60 people.

These open tryouts truly are an opportunity, assuming you get a spot and pay your early $150 registration fee. For that price, you can give you NBA dreams on last chance.
In fact, the only other requirements to participate are that you are at least 18 years old on the day of the tryout, and that you have either graduated from high school, or your high school class would have graduated already.
If you’re like me, and gave up any dreams or aspirations of athletic greatness many years ago, you can always attend the tryouts – that is a serious way to earn points as a hard core fan. Next time someone says they’re the Suns biggest fan, you can grill them about how the NAZ Suns’ tryouts went.
According to the frequently asked questions provided from the Northern Arizona Suns, the tryouts in Phoenix will be closed to the public, but the Prescott tryouts will be open.
For anyone with a friend that constantly talks trash about their basketball skills, this can be the perfect opportunity to call them out – or help them prove themselves. While a long shot, these tryouts could be an eventual ticket to the NBA.
