Noel was reportedly fined 'heavily and often' during first season
The Sixers have recently had to deal with multiple incidents involving Jahlil Okafor that showed his lack of maturity in making the proper decisions off the court.
Unfortunately, it's something that the team has gotten used to.
Joel Embiid was sent home from a road trip last season for arguing with a strength coach about his recovery from injury, and reportedly disobeyed the team's wishes over the summer, which may have been the cause of the need for a second season-ending surgery.
And according to a report from Bob Cooney of Philly.com, Nerlens Noel got into trouble during his rookie season, as well.
The lack of veterans on the roster would be an easy thing to blame all of this on, because those are the guys who usually show the rookies the ropes, and are able to keep them in line. But it goes beyond that.
When considering the fact that Philadelphia is experiencing maturity issues with a third straight first-round draft choice, there's an organizational culture problem that those in the front office have clearly refused to address.
There is the fact that Nerlens Noel was fined heavily and often, to the tune of around $25,000, according to a source, for repeated tardiness and other violations during his first season, which he missed due to a knee injury.
