New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony Weighs In On Derrick Rose Trial
New York Knicks franchise player Carmelo Anthony weighed in on the Derrick Rose trial. His comments displayed both frustration and faith.
The New York Knicks have gone through training camp and the preseason with a black cloud attempting to block the light of postseason potential. As the Knicks attempt to build team chemistry, one individual has been generally absent: Derrick Rose.
For those unfamiliar, Rose is on trial for allegedly gang raping his ex-girlfriend at her Los Angeles home in 2013.
The trial is still in its early stages, but details have emerged from both sides to complicate the process. Rose’s lawyers pushed for am is trial, which the judge declined, although he did comment on a lack of evidence provided by the plaintiff.
According to Al Iannazzone of Newsday, Knicks franchise player Carmelo Anthony is hoping Rose will figure things out sooner than later.

That certainly sounds like Anthony trusts Rose on the topic of his innocence.
One would like to think that basketball would be the last topic of conversation if Rose is indeed guilty of this heinous crime. Anthony’s comments imply that Rose has convinced his teammates of his innocence.
That’s far from a legally binding achievement on Rose’s behalf, but his teammates are the people are coming to know him best.
In that same breath, Rose’s ex-girlfriend is someone who knew him closely, as well.
If Rose is innocent, then one would like to see this trial finished as quickly as possible so he can get back to his life and career. If he’s not, then basketball will be an afterthought and his basketball season could be lost in its entirety.
There’s no telling how Adam Silver and the league office will react, but it stands to reason that they’re monitoring this case.
Anthony and the Knicks are hoping Rose is proven innocent so that he can return to New York as soon as possible.
