Nets not the Hawks' focus heading into Game 2

Published Apr. 22, 2015 2:07 p.m. ET

The Brooklyn Nets showed in Game 1 that the Atlanta Hawks would be foolhardy to take the 8-seed lightly, hanging tough in a 99-92 loss. Yet the Hawks, cut from the same cloth as the San Antonio Spurs, weren't exactly concerned with the Nets during practice on Tuesday, according to the New York Daily News. In fact, Brooklyn was hardly a topic of conversation for the vast majority of the session:

"On the second off-day of this series, the Nets were still an afterthought in the Hawks’ media session, unmentioned until one of the final questions broached the subject of Brook Lopez’s shot-blocking ability.

'He's tall,' responded guard Dennis Schroder."

It's a response and an approach that would certainly make Gregg Popovich proud.
