McGrady debuts for Rockets

Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady made his season debut against Detroit, about nine months after undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee.

He scored three points in eight minutes of a 107-96 victory.

Houston coach Rick Adelman announced the decision to play McGrady about an hour before the game Tuesday night.

The seven-time All-Star hadn't played since Feb. 9. He underwent the risky surgery Feb. 24 and spent his summer in Chicago rehabbing with Tim Grover, a trainer who previously worked with Michael Jordan.
