Mavs feature a whole new bench unit
The Dallas Mavericks have traditionally featured big names coming off the bench who were capable of lighting up the scoreboard. Things may be a little different this season, however.
The Mavs had most of their second unit leave in free agency, shifting the load to newcomers like Justin Anderson, Dwight Powell and JaVale McGee.
Will the Mavs be able to keep up their high-scoring ways?
Here's more from Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com:
After seeing three of their top scorers off the bench move on this summer during free agency, the Dallas Mavericks will likely be more reliant on their unsung heroes in the second unit this upcoming season.
“I mean, we’ve done things a little different way than some teams the last several years,” Carlisle said while addressing the play of his bench in recent seasons. “We’ve had guys like Jason Terry and Vince [Carter] and [Brandan] Wright, and Devin [Harris] came off the bench for us last year. So, we’ll have to see.”
