Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd sits out again

Published Apr. 8, 2011 9:30 p.m. ET

Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd is missing a second straight game to rest up for the playoffs.

The 38-year-old point guard was sitting out Dallas' game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.

Kidd hadn't missed a game all season before sitting out Wednesday night, when the Mavericks lost to Denver. He went scoreless in 27 minutes in his last game and had a total of 11 points over his last four games.

Rodrigue Beaubois again was starting in Kidd's place.
