Lin rookie card sells for $21,580 on eBay
New York collector Yair Rozmaryn paid $1,000 two weeks ago for a rookie playing card featuring Jeremy Lin after the Knicks point guard had two solid games in a row.
On Thursday night, the card sold in an eBay auction for $21,580, mirroring the rise in Lin's perceived value both on and off the court.
The card, which Rozmaryn described as the "Holy Grail" of Lin basketball cards, includes a piece of Lin's jersey from his rookie season with the Golden State Warriors in 2010-11, and his signature.
The card, one of just 25 in a series, was made more valuable by the fact it was the 17th card in the release, matching Lin's jersey number. The winning bidder's identity was not known.
Rozmaryn told FOX Business Channel Thursday that he was very happy with his short-term investment, adding that he planned to sit on the money for a while before deciding what to do with it.
