Lillard: 'It takes time' to be great two-way player

BY foxsports • June 11, 2015

Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is already one of the league's most dangerous point guards, and one of the clutchest fourth quarter performers in all of basketball.

Still, that's not enough to satisfy some of his louder critics.

Lillard's performance on the defensive end is often questioned, but he's preaching patience with his development on that side of the ball.

Here's what Lillard told Jabari Young of CSNNW.com:

“A lot of people forget that it’s my third season," Lillard said. "It takes time to learn. It takes time to learn to be a 22 points player on one end and lockdown a guy who does the same thing on the other end.”
