Lawyer: Wade, ex reach settlement

Published Jul. 22, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Dwyane Wade's attorney says the Miami Heat guard has finally reached a financial settlement with his ex-wife, ending their divorce saga.

Attorney James Pritikin says Wade ''provided a very generous settlement'' to ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. Wade filed for divorce in 2007, and it was granted in 2010. He was awarded sole custody of his two sons in 2011.

The settlement was announced three days after Funches sat on a busy Chicago street and said Wade left her homeless and destitute. Pritikin says Wade has been paying his ex-wife $25,000 a month, plus paid her mortgage, for four cars, insurance, taxes and the fees incurred by the 16 attorneys she retained during the divorce and custody fights.

Pritikin says a court will decide if Funches gets future visitation with her sons.
