Lakers Training Camp: Video Highlights From Day 2 in Santa Barbara

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Training camp is finally underway and the team over at Lakers Nation has been doing their best to keep fans updated with daily highlight videos

During Monday’s Media Day, the young Los Angeles Lakers continued the trend of saying all the right things. However, as is always the case, actions speak louder than words.

Though the team has stayed active over the course of the summer with workouts they so aptly deemed, “The Breakfast Club,” an ironic name seeing that many of the members haven’t even seen the cult classic, Tuesday represented the first day the entire team was together under one roof.

But based on the footage that Lakers Nation has so graciously provided, hard work doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Purple and Gold.

Posting daily videos of training camp shoot around, drills and post-practice interviews, a few things are easily noticeable from the short clips.

The first thing that stands out is that D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson are almost inseparable. We know that they developed a strong bond last season and it appears that the summer off has only strengthened their relationship.

This is great news for the organization who placed all of their eggs in one basket in hopes that the two could co-exist, but more so thrive, in the same back court.

Second, seeing that he shot 25 percent from distance during Summer League, some were quick to worry about Ingram’s three point shot translating to the NBA, but based on the videos his shot is coming along nicely.

Another thing that stood out was that almost every big on the team looked comfortable shooting the ball from mid-range, which is a great sign for everyone, especially Coach Luke Walton.

On a negative note, Anthony Brown still doesn’t look comfortable shooting from three, so hopefully his defensive potential keeps him on the floor long enough to adjust.

The excitement for the season to start is building by the day so we’ll be sure to update you on all of the happenings from training camp as always.
