Knicks, Rockets come together, lock arms during national anthem (Photo)
A pretty cool moment took place during the preseason opener between the Knicks and Rockets as both teams locked arms.
The hottest debate around sports right now has to be the national anthem protest discussion. Should players sit or kneel during the anthem or is it a slap in the face of everyone who has fought and died for Americans’ freedom? The Knicks and Rockets had the perfect showing of unity on Tuesday night during the anthem.
There’s truly no right or wrong answer right now because each side doesn’t know what the other has had to go through. Each player around sports has the right to choose whether they want to sit or stand for the anthem as our soldiers have fought for that freedom.
Before the preseason opener in Houston between the Rockets and Knicks, both teams came together across the floor in a cool display of unity. The players from both teams locked arms and stood together for the national anthem.

Maybe this should be the new standard of actions during the national anthem for professional athletes. It’s not necessarily a protest, but both sides coming together as one. They may not like each other on the court, but before the game they’re all supporting each other.
You can see guys like Carmelo Anthony, Joakim Noah, Kristaps Porzingis, Sam Dekker, James Harden and many others holding each other up. This coming together of both teams is a pretty cool way to show support for each other and stand together as one.
This country has had too much tearing apart its citizens lately and actions by pro athletes like this make it much easier to have hope for humanity. Albeit, it’s just the preseason, but it’s a cool act, nonetheless.
