Kings exercise option on Evans

The Sacramento Kings have exercised a contract option on reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans.

The Kings also said Monday they exercised options on third-year forwards Jason Thompson and Donte Greene, and second-year forward Omri Casspi.

Evans is the cornerstone for the Kings after joining LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Oscar Robertson as the only rookies in NBA history to average at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game.

The move keeps Evans under contract through next season. The Kings hold one more option.

They also locked up Casspi for his third season and Thompson and Greene for their fourth years in the NBA.
