Kevin Durant's first bucket with Golden State (Video)
Kevin Durant scored his first basket with the Golden State Warriors and it was a beautiful one.
It didn’t take long for Kevin Durant to score his first points in a Warriors uniform. In fact, he scored the Warriors first points of the season on Tuesday night. With the Oracle Arena waiting for madness to happen on the court, Durant had a beautiful stroke to his shot to get his team on the board.
As a Stephen Curry screen allowed Tony Parker to switch on Durant, the Warriors had the exact advantage they wanted. With his length and size, Durant had no issue shooting right over the much shorter point guard for the shot.
After seeing a play like this, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Warriors try and run something similar like this more often. There aren’t many forwards big enough to match up on Durant, let alone point guards.
This is just one of the many plays that Steve Kerr has drawn up for his team and it worked out flawlessly. There were questions about how the team could co-exist together on the floor, but it has been great for Durant and the Warriors thus far against San Antonio.
