Kevin Durant gets new ink
The Golden State Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant gets some new celebrity ink on his body to go with his Tupac Shakur tattoo.
Since announcing his decision to join the Golden State Warriors on the Fourth of July, Kevin Durant has been very busy. He’s been at the center of a lot of scrutiny and criticism because he left the franchise that drafted him for a team that just set the single-season record for most wins. He’s been labeled a villain.
With a decade of NBA service under his belt, Durant has been labeled a lot of things. He’s been the nice guy. A friendly superstar without the killer instinct to win a championship. When he lost, local media called him “Mr. Unreliable.” After leaving, he’s been characterized as a coward, a loser, and even a cheater.
Durant admitted that he knew the backlash would be there, but he seems content with his decision. Already a fan of body art, the 2014 MVP has added some ink to his body. And it’s great.
The first one came about a month and a half ago. He unveiled it during Team USA practice. On his calf, he got a large portrait of rapper Tupac Shakur and the Wut-Tang Clan logo.
He’s now added a new celebrity to his body.
Yes, that is Rick James on his left thigh. The art looks well done when you look at the printed photo on his right leg. It’s pretty spot on.
When talking about the Tupac tattoo, Durant said that he was actually a Notorious B.I.G. fan, which makes sense considering he grew up on the East Coast in Washington D.C. The forward probably has a personal reason for wanting to sport an illustration of the iconic entertainer on his body.
