Jilted bride moves on after NBA star ditches her

She was jilted days before her wedding, but Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols is trying to stay positive.

The former New Jersey Nets dancer says she sees herself as a strong woman dealing with a setback — NBA star Richard Jefferson called off their wedding just days before the nuptials.

"That's my philosophy, just keep dancing for life," Nichols told ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday morning. "Just keep picking up the pieces and keep going."

Nichols also refuted several rumors about the canceled wedding during her interview. That $2 million price tag for the wedding? Not true. The planned nuptials cost the couple $500,000, according to Nichols.

Reports also said Jefferson dumped Nichols by e-mail, which she denied, saying an e-mail she received from him just confirmed an earlier conversation.

In fact, she said the couple was having problems in the days leading up to the wedding. It was the second time the two had broken off their engagement and she said that this time, she only wished Jefferson had let her go sooner.

In the end, her family traveled to New York City anyway for the weekend to support Nichols and enjoy a "life celebration" instead of her planned wedding reception.

And with the relationship behind her, Nichols said she has no hard feelings toward the NBA star.

"I will always care about him," she said. "My heart is broken. I'll miss him as a friend."
