Jay Z designs new Nets uniforms

Everyone says if you want something done right — do it yourself. That’s a saying Jay-Z has taken to heart. As part owner of the (eventual) Brooklyn Nets, Jay’s shown an appreciation for a “hands-on” type of ownership by taking part in designing the reincarnation of the Nets’ uniforms.

The new uniforms will feature Brooklyn prominently because the club wants to tap into the borough’s world-popular brand name, according to the New York Post. Jay-Z is a name that is synonymous with Brooklyn. And who better to promote a successful start in Brooklyn than Brooklyn’s most culturally relevant product?

His involvement with Roc-a-wear already gives Jay-Z a leg up on most in the fashion designing game. As long as he keeps in mind that basketball players don’t wear Chinchilla on the court — he can bring some innovative ideas to the table.
