How is Evan Turner so...average?

Evan Turner has surprisingly been one of Boston's best players since the team signed him two years ago. The former number two overall pick has carried the Celtics' offense while supplying stable work on the other end. 

It's great. 

Less great, he's average. Super duper average. Here's more on that from NBA Media:

Turner is averaging 10.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. That's above average. But everything else: Apparently very average.
