Houston thrilled with overall paint presence
The Rockets are known for shooting a ton of three pointers (like, the most in NBA history), but to win a title they know they'll need to attack the paint and score regularly at a much closer distance.
After Game 2, they were thrilled with how they did, despite missing some easy looks that typically go down. Here's the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen with Rockets head coach Kevin McHale's reaction.
“We got in the paint a lot,” McHale said. “We didn’t finish very well early, but we got in the paint a lot. They played things a little big softer and tried to stay home a little bit more, especially early in the game. Made us finish over them at the rim. We have to do a better job finishing. But I’ve said all year long, our first goal, how we play, is to attack the rim. If we get 100 dunks, we’ll take 100 dunks."
It's an incredibly uplifting development for Houston, as they're all but a lock to advance to the next round.
