Hornets want to see the Al Jefferson from two years ago
Al Jefferson had an incredibly disappointing season, one marred by poor play and nagging injuries. Jefferson knows he needs to lose weight and return to the form he was in two seasons ago, and the Hornets know it, too. Steve Reed of the Associated Press has more:
'''This is a big year for Al and for us,'' Cho said. ''It depends on how Al comes back. If he plays great like he did two years ago, then it's a different situation than if he plays like he did this past year. Part of it depends on Al and how well he plays what direction we go. Al was genuinely disappointed in last year, and I know he'll make a concerted effort to get in shape this offseason.'''
Jefferson is one of the hardest workers in the NBA, so there shouldn't be any concern as to whether he'll work himself back into shape. What may be concerning is Jefferson's age, and whether his decline last season was less of an aberration and more a sign of things to come. If it's the latter, then this may be the last season Jefferson spends in Charlotte.
