Here are 5 free agents the Mavericks should look at this summer
The Mavericks should have plenty of cap space this summer, and even more holes on their roster in need of filling. There's a chance Plan A doesn't go as smoothly as Mark Cuban hopes it will, so what are some backup ideas?
Here's a look at five free agents who can really help Dallas bounce back from its nightmare of a season, courtesy of Rant Sports. One of the more interesting candidates is current Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson. Here's why:
"So, there is a void at point guard and guard in general since Monta Ellis could also opt out. Reggie Jackson could be a nice pick-up for the Mavs. Jackson is a flourishing point guard who doesn't need to steal the show. It might also leave room for another signing."
Dallas needs a quality point guard, and replacing Rajon Rondo should be one of its top priorities this summer. But Jackson is restricted, meaning the Pistons have the right to match any offer sheet presented by another team.
The only conceivable chance said team has at prying him away would be with a max offer, and it's unclear whether the Mavericks think that highly of him. It's definitely a tricky situation.
