Haywood suspended for conduct violation

Published Nov. 26, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Dallas Mavericks center Brendan Haywood is out against the streaking San Antonio Spurs after being suspended one game for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

The Mavs made the announcement about an hour before tipoff Friday. Coach Rick Carlisle declined to reveal why the 10-year veteran was disciplined.

Carlisle said ''everyone is held to a high level of accountability'' and that the team was going to make things right. He would not give further details.

Haywood is averaging 3.7 points and 5.0 rebounds behind starter Tyson Chandler.

Haywood is in his first full season with the Mavs after coming over in February in a trade that also brought Caron Butler and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas.
