Hayward: I'd 'crush' LeBron one-on-one -- but there's a big catch

Gordon Hayward has a pretty good sense of humor -- not to mention a pretty good idea of what will make Twitter flip out.

If Gordon (who averaged 16.2 points per game last season) and James (27.1 ppg) ever met one-on-one?

We know what you're thinking: "Who does this Gordon guy think he is?"

Or maybe for the casual NBA fan: "No, really, who IS this guy? Never heard of him."

But it turns out that the former Butler Bulldog standout (to give you a frame of reference) was engaging in a little clickbait.

First, the tweet in question:

That's definitely the kind of statement -- and the kind of impressive Photoshop work -- that'll send shockwaves through the Twitterverse (note that Hayward even calls out @KingJames in the post).

And when you click on the link, you are greeted by a headline proclaiming much the same: "THE BEST IN THE GAME."

But trust us, it's worth reading to the punchline: "No athlete on earth is as good at League of Legends as I am."

The entire post is worth a read and sure to elicit some smiles, as Hayward documents his "path to digital greatness" and his various sacrifices to get there: "I didn't have a girlfriend. I didn't go to dances."

He even tells an anecdote about having to ask his then-Butler coach Brad Stevens if he could play in a video game tournament as an incoming freshman.

For real.

And he closes by naming his "all-NBA League of Legends team" -- which would be comprised entirely of the game's elite point guards, plus himself.
