In a match crafted in the basketball and musical heavens, Shaquille O'Neal, the king of hoops nicknames, is reportedly joining the ranks of some of the most famous nicknames in music and becoming a professional nightclub DJ.

And the site of this maiden gig?

Vegas, of course.

According to TMZ Sports, the four-time world champion and current analyst on TNT's "Inside the NBA" has been honing his craft in the studio and will unveil his talents on June 27 at Chateau Nightclub at the Paris Hotel.

And apparently, the big man is serious. TMZ spoke with DJ Irie, the official DJ of the Miami Heat who has also appeared on "Inside the NBA," who said O'Neal has been spinning for years.

"When Shaq was in Miami he actually made a studio in his house," Irie told TMZ. "We'd go there and make beats and do mash-ups. He was very much into DJ'ing. We actually made 3-4 mixtapes.

"We had a preseason game in Puerto Rico one year and I was there DJ'ing a party. Shaq came up to the booth and said, 'Let me get on.' The first song he played was 'Move B***h' by Ludacris. He rocked me!"

Though well aware this will be The Diesel's first paying gig at the turntables, the club told TMZ: "Shaq will win over club-goers as he spins the hottest beats well into the late night hours."
