Bucks fill out roster with ex-Celtics guard

Veteran guard Marquis Daniels has signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, likely filling the team's final roster spot for the upcoming season. Daniels averaged just 3.2 points in 38 games with the Boston Celtics last season, but he played a key role off the bench on defens.

Last season's surprise rookie stays with Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have re-signed forward Ivan Johnson, who made a surprise impact as an undrafted rookie last season. The 28-year-old Johnson averaged 6.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 56 games. He led the team by making 51.3 percent of his shots from the field and ranked fourth in rebounds.

Heat add Harrellson, now have 18 players under contract

The Miami Heat signed 6-foot-10, 275-pound Josh Harrellson, who averaged 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds as a rookie for the New York Knicks last season. The Heat have 18 players under contract for training camp, which opens with the first practice Sept. 29

Barnes switches teams but stays in LA

The Los Angeles Clippers signed forward Matt Barnes, the nine-year NBA veteran who spent the past two seasons down the hall at Staples Center with the Lakers. Barnes was the top-scoring reserve on the NBA's lowest-scoring bench last season, averaging 7.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Lakers.

Nets fill out roster with Blatche, Childress

The Brooklyn Nets signed 6-foot-11 Andray Blatche, who averaged 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 26 games last season for the Washington Wizards. Washington waived Blatche in July, designating him as the team's amnesty player. The Nets also signed veteran forward Josh Childress, who played for the Suns last season.

Webster hooks on with Wizards

Swingman Martell Webster has signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Wizards. Webster played with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, averaging 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds.

Green re-signs with Celtics after lost season

The Boston Celtics have re-signed forward Jeff Green, who missed all of last season after a physical exam revealed an aortic aneurysm. He underwent surgery and became a free agent before signing Wednesday. Full story...

Ibaka signs extension with Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder took a big step toward sticking around as an NBA championship contender by reaching a contract extension with blocks leader Serge Ibaka. The Thunder locked up another key member of their nucleus while also putting into question whether the small-market team can afford to keep Sixth Man of the Year James Harden beyond next season. Suns add veteran center Jermaine O'Neal

The Suns bolstered their frontcourt, adding veteran big man Jermaine O'Neal. O'Neal, who was limited to 25 games last season because of various injuries, is expected to back up center Marcin Gortat.

Lakers get Howard in four-team blockbuster

In a blockbuster, four-team deal, the Orlando Magic have agreed to trade All-Star center Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers will send Andrew Bynum to the 76ers, who also will get veteran guard Jason Richardson from the Magic. Denver, in turn, will receive All-Star swingman Andre Iguodala from the Philadelphia 76ers and one future first-round pick from each of the other three teams. Full story...

Bucks bring back Przybilla for second Milwaukee stint

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free-agent center Joel Przybilla, maintaining an offseason push to beef up their frontcourt. The 7-foot-1 Przybilla returns to Milwaukee for his second stint with the Bucks after beginning his career with the franchise.

Wolves bring Kirilenko back to NBA

Andrei Kirilenko is 11 years older and set to make more than 11 times the money than he did the first time he jumped to the NBA. And he's no longer a fresh-faced rookie but, rather, one of the final pieces to a roster that Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn has been reassembling for weeks. Raptors re-sign Gray, add Lucas III

The Toronto Raptors re-signed center Aaron Gray and added free-agent guard John Lucas III. Gray averaged 3.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 16.6 minutes over 49 games with the Raptors last season. The 29-year-old Lucas had career bests in points (7.5), assists (2.2), rebounds (1.6) and games (49) with the Bulls last season.

Mavs keep West with new deal

The Dallas Mavericks re-signed free-agent guard Delonte West. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The 6-foot-3 West originally signed with Dallas as a free agent on Dec. 13. He averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 24.1 minutes in 44 games last season.

Hornets get Robin Lopez in three-team trade

A person familiar with negotiations says the Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves have agreed to a multiplayer deal sending 7-foot center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans, while moving forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick from Minnesota to Phoenix.

Foye reaches deal with Jazz

The Utah Jazz have agreed to terms of a contract with guard Randy Foye. Foye has averaged 11.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds in a six-year career that has included stints with Minnesota, Washington and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Suns keep Shannon Brown with two-year deal

The Phoenix Suns have re-signed guard Shannon Brown. The contract is for two years with the second year partially guaranteed. Brown averaged 11 points and 2.7 rebounds in a career-high 23.7 minutes per game last season.

Bulls let center Omer Asik go to Houston

The Rockets announced Tuesday that Turkish big man Omer Asik is headed to Houston after the Chicago Bulls decided not to match their three-year, $25 million offer sheet.

Sharp-shooting Bellinelli signs with Chicago

Marco Belinelli is the latest member of a revamped bench for the Chicago Bulls. A five-year veteran guard from Italy, Belinelli averaged 11.8 points and played in all 66 games for the New Orleans Hornets last season.

Hinrich comes back to Chicago

Kirk Hinrich is back in Chicago. The Bulls bring back a player they drafted in the first round nine years ago and give themselves a reliable point guard while Derrick Rose recovers from knee surgery.

Wolves sign Stiemsma to offer sheet

Greg Stiemsma's patience with the Minnesota Timberwolves appears to have paid off. After waiting more than a week for the Timberwolves to finish their dalliance with Nicolas Batum, Stiemsma agreed to terms on an offer sheet with the Wolves, his agent Mike Naiditch said.

Nuggets reportedly sign McGee

The Denver Nuggets signed restricted free-agent center JaVale McGee to a four-year, $44 million deal, according to Yahoo Sports. McGee, who was dealt from the Wizards as part of a three-team trade last season, averaged 10.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 20 regular-season games with the Nuggets.

Blazers match $45 million offer for Batum

The Portland Trail Blazers weren't bluffing about Nicolas Batum, after all. The Blazers matched Minnesota's four-year offer sheet worth more than $45 million for the restricted free agent, keeping the 23-year-old swingman in Portland just like GM Neil Olshey said they would all along.

Nuggets cut ties with "Birdman"

The Denver Nuggets have waived reserve center Chris ''Birdman'' Andersen. The team announced the move Tuesday. Andersen averaged 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.44 blocked shots in 32 games with the Nuggets last season.

Clippers use amnesty clause on Gomes

The Los Angeles Clippers have waived forward Ryan Gomes using the NBA's amnesty provision. He averaged 2.3 points and 13.3 minutes in 32 games last season in a diminished role on the team. He will receive the $4 million left on his contract but it will not count against the Clippers' salary cap.

Knicks let Lin leave for Rockets

Jeremy Lin is taking his game off Broadway - way off - to Houston after the Knicks announced Tuesday night they would not match the Rockets' three-year, $25 million offer for the restricted free agent. Full story...

Nets keep Humphries with two-year deal

The Brooklyn Nets continued their offseason barrage of signings, agreeing to a new, two-year deal with power forward Kris Humphries. Humphries, 27, averaged 13.8 points and 11.0 rebounds for the Nets last season, and has averaged a double-double in back-to-back seasons: 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Grant Hill agrees to deal with Clippers

The Los Angeles Times reports that Grant Hill, 39, has agreed to sign with the Clippers and will be the backup small forward behind starter Caron Butler. Yahoo! Sports also reports that Hill will ink a two-year contract with the team.

Wizards waive Blatche with amnesty clause

The Washington Wizards waived Andray Blatche, designating him as the team's amnesty player. The 25-year-old forward averaged 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds over seven seasons with the Wizards, who drafted him out of high school in the second round in 2005.

Mayo tweets that he'll join Mavs

It looks like the Dallas Mavericks have found their new shooting guard. Free-agent guard O.J. Mayo tweeted that he had signed with the Dallas Mavericks. Full story...

Knicks trade for Felton; will they let Lin go?

Raymond Felton is returning to New York, calling into question whether the Knicks plan to re-sign fellow point guard Jeremy Lin. Felton's agent confirmed a Yahoo Sports report Saturday that Felton would be signed and traded by Portland to New York.

Hornets match Suns' offer to Gordon

The Hornets notified the Suns that they are going to match Phoenix's four-year, $58 million offer sheet to guard Eric Gordon. Gordon played in only nine games last season because of a knee injury. The 23-year-old shooting guard is averaging 18.3 points in his career. Full story...

Bobcats get Haywood with waiver claim

The Charlotte Bobcats have been awarded center Brendan Haywood off waivers from Dallas. Haywood, who grew up in Greensboro and played collegiately at North Carolina — the same alma mater as owner Michael Jordan — was cut loose by the Mavericks using the amnesty clause.

Rockets use amnesty on Scola

The Houston Rockets have waived forward Luis Scola using the amnesty clause, clearing more salary space with a major move in mind. The one-time provision allows Scola to leave without his remaining contract counting against the team's salary cap or luxury tax. Scola is due to make about $21 million over the next three seasons.

Billups re-signs with Clippers

Five-time All-Star Chauncey Billups is staying with the Los Angeles Clippers. The team said that the unrestricted free agent has re-signed, a move coach Vinny Del Negro had mentioned a day earlier.

Pacers trade Collison, Jones to Mavs

The Indiana Pacers are sending point guard Darren Collison and wing player Dahntay Jones to the Dallas Mavericks for center Ian Mahinmi, according to the agent for one of the players.

Wolves use amnesty clause on Milicic

In a move that had been forecasted for weeks, the Timberwolves announced Thursday that they waived center Darko Milicic, designating him as their amnesty player.

Rockets trade Camby, Lowry in separate deals

The Houston Rockets traded center Marcus Camby to the New York Knicks for guard Toney Douglas, centers Josh Harrelson and Jerome Jordan and future second-round picks. Earlier Wednesday, when the NBA's moratorium on trades ended, Houston dealt point guard Kyle Lowry to Toronto for a future first-round lottery pick and forward Gary Forbes.

Report: Wright, Jack traded in three-team deal

The Golden State Warriors are getting more for Dorell Wright after all - pending some last-minute paperwork, of course. The Warriors have agreed to send Wright to the Philadelphia 76ers in a three-team trade that will net guard Jarrett Jack from the New Orleans Hornets.

Report: Duncan, Spurs finalizing three-year deal

The San Antonio Spurs and Tim Duncan have an agreement in place for the free agent power forward to return to the Spurs on a new three-year deal, reports the San Antonio Express News. A league source told the newspaper that terms are set to be similar to the deal that Boston's Kevin Garnett received at three years and $36 million.

Heat to get Rashard Lewis for bare minimum

Rashard Lewis is joining the Heat. Lewis’ agent, Colin Bryant, told FOX Sports Florida that Lewis will get a deal for the minimum salary of $1.35 million. The free-agent forward is a two-time All-Star.

JR Smith agrees to stay with Knicks

The New York Knicks are keeping another key member of their rotation with JR Smith deciding to re-sign. Smith had declined a $2.5 million option for next season, because doing so meant he could earn slightly more. But the New Jersey native had hoped to return to the Knicks.

Sharpshooter Novak returning to Knicks

Steve Novak, the NBA's top 3-point shooter this past season at 47.2 percent, is returning to the New York Knicks with a four-year deal worth $15 million.

Sixers use amnesty clause on Brand

The Philadelphia 76ers have used the amnesty clause on veteran forward Elton Brand and will get about $18 million in salary cap relief for next season. Sixers president Rod Thorn confirmed the move in an email to the Associated Press on Friday. Brand was entering the final season of an $80 million, five-year contract.

Nick Young agrees to deal with Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a one-year contract with guard Nick Young. Young's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told the Associated Press that the deal is for one season in the $6 million range. Young spent the first four-plus seasons with the Washington Wizards before he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in March. He's averaged 11.4 points over his career.

Report: Roy, T-wolves agree to 2-year deal

Recently retired former All-Star Brandon Roy is attempting a comeback, reportedly agreeing to a two-year, $10 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Roy, who retired while with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2011 because of chronic knee injuries, has averaged 19 points and 4.7 assists in his career.

Report: Kidd spurns Mavs for Knicks

Free-agent point guard Jason Kidd has pulled an "about face" after reports circulated Thursday morning that he had agreed to return to the Dallas Mavericks. Instead, Kidd is heading to the New York Knicks, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Report: Clippers to sign Billups, Crawford

The Clippers were informed that guards Jamal Crawford and Chauncey Billups intend to sign contracts with the team, according to the LA Times. Crawford is expected to sign a three-year, $15.7 million contract, while Billups will sign a one-year deal that could be worth up to $4.3 million if he reaches bonuses.

Nelson agrees to stay in Orlando with new deal

The Magic are making some progress on solidifying their roster for next season, agreeing in principle to a new deal with Jameer Nelson. Orlando's 30-year-old point guard announced the news on his Twitter account. The deal comes just a week after Nelson opted out of the final season and nearly $8 million of his contract to test free agency.

Report: Nash agrees to sign-and-trade deal with Lakers.

Steve Nash has reportedly agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Nash, who has spent the past eight seasons with the Phoenix Suns, averaged 12.5 points and 10.7 assists last season. Nash reportedly will receive a three-year, $25 million deal.

The Suns reportedly will get a package of first- and second-round picks. The New York Knicks reportedly had been pursuing the 38-year-old point guard, trying to acquire him in a sign-and-trade deal. Full story...

AP: Suns, Beasley agree to 3-year, $18 million

A person familiar with the situation says free agent forward Michael Beasley has agreed to a three-year, $18 million deal with the Phoenix Suns. Beasley, the second overall pick in the 2008 draft out of Kansas State, averaged 15.1 points per game in his four NBA seasons, two with Miami and the past two with Minnesota.

Report: Dragic, Suns agree to deal

A person with knowledge of the situation says the Phoenix Suns have reached agreement with free agent point guard Goran Dragic on a four-year, $30 million contract with the final year a player option. Dragic was Steve Nash's backup in Phoenix before being traded to Houston.

Report: Sixers, Hawes agree to deal

The Philadelphia 76ers locked down their free-agent center Spencer Hawes on Wednesday, according to Yahoo! Sports. Hawes, who agreed to a two-year, $13.1 million contract extension, helped the Sixers reach the Eastern Conference semifinals. During the regular season, Hawes averaged 9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds before an Achilles injury sidelined him.

Report: Former No. 2 pick Thabeet will sign with Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with center Hasheem Thabeet, according to The Oklahoman. Drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft after a stellar career at Connecticut, Thabeet has struggled to find his legs in the pros. Oklahoma City will be his fourth team in four seasons.

Deron Williams decides to stay with Nets

All-Star point guard Deron Williams said on his Twitter page Tuesday night that he ''made a very tough decision today'' and posted a picture of the new team logo that accompanies the Nets' move from New Jersey to Brooklyn.

A person with knowledge of the decision said Williams told the team he was accepting their five-year contract worth $98 million. Williams, the top free agent available, chose to stay with the Nets over signing with his hometown team, the Dallas Mavericks. Full story...

Raptors, Fields reportedly agree on three-year deal

The Toronto Raptors reportedly reached an agreement with restricted free-agent guard Landry Fields that would pay him $20 million over three years. Fields, 24, averaged 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds last season with the New York Knicks.

Pacers reach deal with PG Hill

The Indiana Pacers and point guard George Hill have agreed to a new deal. Hill's co-agent, Michael Whitaker, wrote in a text message that Hill, a 26-year-old restricted free agent, will sign once the NBA's moratorium period ends on July 11. He did not disclose terms.

Reports: Hawks trade Johnson to Nets, Williams to Jazz

In what will go down as a historic day in franchise history, new Atlanta Hawks general manager Danny Ferry drastically re-made the team's roster. According to multiple reports, Ferry has agreed to ship out leading scorer and six-time All-Star Joe Johnson, who has $90 million remaining on his contract, and Marvin Williams, the second overall pick in 2005 who never lived up to his billing. Report: Garnett to remain with Celtics

The Big Ticket has bought a return fare to Boston. Kevin Garnett has told the Celtics he will return for at least two more seasons, the Boston Herald reports. The veteran power forward, who has played in the NBA for 17 seasons, including five with Boston, could be back for a third year, depending on the deal. Full story...

Report: Griffin agrees to five-year extension with Clippers

As expected, the Clippers offered extensions to All-Stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul on Saturday night when the free-agency period opened. And as expected, Griffin agreed to his five-year extension worth up to $95 million and Paul didn’t accept his three-year extension for $60 million, according to sources who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Report: Wallace to sign four-year, $40M deal with Nets

Gerald Wallace has agreed to sign a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets worth $40 million, according to ESPN. The 30-year-old swingman opted out of the final year of his contract last month. The Nets gave up a lottery pick to acquire Wallace in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers last season.
