Dwyane Wade is one of the NBA's more flamboyant dressers, but his latest outfit for Esquire magazine takes things to another level.

In his recent photo shoot, Wade is wearing a black jumpsuit with gold chain over his bare chest and a blue blazer draped over his shoulders like a cape.

The Internet, of course, had a field day. What look was Wade going for? A superhero? Prince's backup dancer? MC Hammer's stunt double?

Wade responded to some of the backlash on Thursday, posting an Instagram photo of himself in a suit side-by-side the controversial outfit. Wade decided to tackle the blurred delineation between style and fashion, sharing his point of view on the topic:
