Cavs are reportedly looking to trade Joe Harris

There was a time early last season where Joe Harris was actually being considered as a starter for the Cleveland Cavaliers. But a year later, he may end up on another team before the season is finished.

The move would potentially happen for two reasons. In the short term, it would immediately reduce the Cavaliers' luxury tax bill, which is astronomical this season and was a primary reason that the Tristan Thompson contract took so long to get done.

But it would also open up a roster spot, one that could be used to add talent via trade or free agency later in the season.

Harris appeared in 51 games for the Cavaliers last year, and averaged 2.7 points in 9.7 minutes per contest.

The Cavs have made Harris available, one league source said, while showcasing him in the Development League. Harris is averaging 17.6 points for the Canton Charge, but is shooting 31 percent on 3-pointers. He is shooting just 28 percent from 3 in his last five games with the Charge.
