Carmelo Anthony's season ended in February when he decided to undergo knee surgery and sit out the rest of the year to recover. Now in rehab, Anthony hopes to be back for the start of next season, and he gave an injury update to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post:
Anthony still has four years remaining on his almost-max deal with the Knicks. Like it or not, he's staying in New York, so this is certainly good news for Knicks fans to be hearing so far away from the start of the season.

The Knicks star said in an interview with ESPN.com he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery from February surgery to repair a partially torn patellar tendon.
“I’m doing extremely well,” Anthony said. “Rehab is going very, very well. I’m actually ahead of schedule [compared] to where everybody predicted I would be at this point in time.
“It’s going very well.”
Anthony, who said in April he would be ready for the start of training camp, averaged 24.2 points and 6.6 rebounds in 40 games for the Knicks last season, in what was the first season of a five-year contract worth over $120 million.
