Bucks' Khris Middleton could be logical free agent target for Magic
The Orlando Magic need more outside shooting.
In 2014-15, the Magic were a slightly below-average team on 3-point accuracy, knocking down 34.7 percent of their shots from deep (the league average was 35 percent). But Orlando was a bottom-10 team in the percentage of their total field goals that came from outside. As a result, teams were able to pack the paint against the Magic and make things difficult on the likes of Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo.
A return to form by Channing Frye next season would help quite a bit on the shooting front, but one free agent could make up for Frye's disappointing season -- and make a lot of sense in Orlando, Kareem Gantt of Rant Sports writes: "The Magic can make up for that blunder [Frye's contract] by signing [Milwaukee Bucks wing Khris] Middleton, as he can solve the shooting woes and help open up the driving lanes for Oladipo and Payton."
Middleton is a 40 percent shooter on 3-pointers so far in his three-year career, and he's a plus defender, as well. Unfortunately for Orlando and any other team looking to pry him away from Milwaukee, however, Middleton is a restricted free agent this offseason, meaning the Bucks can match any offer he signs with another team.
