Blind teen delivers stirring national anthem at Cavaliers game

The national anthem is played before event after event, but the memorable renditions are few and far between.

However, blind teen Marlana Vanhoose's version of the song prior to the Cleveland Cavaliers' 114-88 victory over the Miami Heat was stirring.

Vanhoose has an amazing backstory. She was born with cytomegalovirus (CMV), and is blind. She also was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 2 along with scoliosis of the spine that makes it difficult to walk.

None of that has stopped her from delivering amazing vocals.

"I am very comfortable singing or talking in front of all those people because . . . I can't see all those people," she told nkytribune.com. That is despite the fact that as a 4-year-old, she sang at church and "couldn't get used to a microphone."

Vanhoose, 19, also will sing the anthem before the Cincinnati Reds home opener.
