'Big Baby' apologizes for tantrum

Published Nov. 12, 2013 12:00 a.m. ET

Generally speaking, there’s nothing remarkable about a baby throwing a tantrum in public — but when the baby is an NBA player, and the meltdown takes place in a motel lobby, it tends to make the news.

On Tuesday morning, TMZ posted a video of Orlando Magic forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis arguing with an employee at a Travelodge in downtown Orlando early Saturday morning. According to TMZ, Davis was trying to book a room just after 4 a.m., and became agitated after he was told that the hotel was sold out.

As you can see in the video below, Davis responded by ripping the keyboard from the front desk computer and tossing it before leaving the hotel.

Police were called to the scene, but Davis was not arrested. After the video came to light, Davis took to Twitter to apologize for his actions.

The Magic say they are aware of the situation and are handling it internally. TMZ reports that the team has already cut a check to the hotel, located just one mile from Amway Arena, to pay for damages. Davis has not played yet this season as he continues to recover from foot surgery.
