Best Season By A Hawk Wearing #7

Toni Kukoc (2001)

19.7 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 6.2 APG in 36.4 MPG

Quite honestly, this is the most disappointing number yet. 20 players in team history and the best season came from a 32-year old Croatian? Sigh. Coming from Philadelphia in a mid-season trade for Dikembe Mutombo, the “Pink Panther” helped the struggling Hawks to only a 5-12 record. But, he did put up impressive numbers in his shortened season. In mid-March, Kukoc tallied two triple-doubles within a four day span (20/10/11 on 3/13/2001, 29/10/10 on 3/17/2002). He scored a season-high 31 points versus the Bucks on March 25th. The following season, Kukoc played in only 59 games, starting 9, and the Hawks went 33-49.

 Who wore #7 most recently?

Justin Holiday (2016)

Justin Holiday, Hawk Legend starred at Washington for __ years before going undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft. He took his talents overseas to dominate unsuspecting Europeans. He eventually ended up with the Warriors, where he became the first member of his family, which includes Jrue Holiday and UCLA’s Aaron Holiday, to win an NBA championship. The Hawks signed him on July 9, and a dynasty began. In only 29 games, Holiday blessed the court, scoring 63 points. Maybe if he would have gotten real playing time, he would have done that in one game.
