Anthony sits again as Knicks face Mavericks

Published Feb. 19, 2012 12:38 p.m. ET

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony missed his seventh straight game Sunday because of a strained right groin and is expected to return Monday.

The Knicks had J.R. Smith in uniform against Dallas after signing him from China on Friday, but coach Mike D'Antoni wasn't sure if he would play since he hasn't practiced yet.

Anthony again worked out before the game, though it had already been decided he wouldn't play. D'Antoni believes Anthony will face the New Jersey Nets on Monday.
