Just who do fans like best in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series?
They will soon let everyone know.
Voting for the 2012 National Motorsports Press Association NASCAR Most Popular Driver award is under way.
Fans can visit www.MostPopularDriver.com and vote once a day for their favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup driver. Eligible drivers are those who have signed up to receive championship points in the Sprint Cup Series and are planning to compete in at least half the races. Voting for the full field of drivers will end on Sept. 8, with 10 drivers then announced as finalists and becoming the only ones receiving votes to season's end.
Voting will conclude Nov. 18.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. notched his ninth consecutive NMPA NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award last season. Only Earnhardt Jr. and Bill Elliott have won the award nine consecutive times since the award's inception in 1953.
