TRG changes crew chiefs for Texas

Published Mar. 31, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Dan Stillman will be the new crew chief for TRG Motorsports when Andy Lally returns to the No. 71 Ford next weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.

“We really wanted to get someone that would fit in with the program,” said TRG team owner Kevin Buckler. “He’s very well thought of in the Ford camp. Now our circle is complete.

“We had a nice three-week courtship with the Ford guys. It was kind of Jack (Roush) to put us on the A-plan. We have a chance for the first time in this company to race with brand-new equipment.

“We want to go racing with our rookie Andy Lally and keep the circle going. This is the next step process to building TRG.”

Stillman returns to TRG after starting the season as crew chief for NASCAR Truck Series driver Tayler Malsam at Kyle Busch Motorsports. Stillman led Carl Edwards’ Nationwide Series effort to second place in the points standings the last two seasons with a total of nine victories. Stillman has also enjoyed stints with Kevin Harvick Inc. and Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Hermie Sadler is driving for TRG this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.
