Stewart taking a hiatus from Prelude to the Dream

Tony Stewart won't hold his annual charity race at Eldora Speedway in 2013 but plans to bring it back after a one-year hiatus.

He'd also like to bring some NASCAR racing to the half-mile dirt oval in Rossburg, Ohio.

Stewart's track has been mentioned as site of a possible Truck Series race, and the three-time NASCAR champion said he'd love to play host. But he said there's been nothing beyond preliminary discussions at this point.

Meanwhile, Stewart is changing the format of the prestigious late model race run at Eldora every year. To ensure his staff can pull it off, he said he's taking a break from the popular Prelude to the Dream charity race that featured drivers from various disciplines running late models.
