Sorenson returns to Nationwide in '13
Reed Sorenson will return to the NASCAR Nationwide Series full time this season, driving for The Motorsports Group starting with the season-opening race at Daytona.
Sorenson, 26, has four career Nationwide wins to his credit as well as two top-five season finishes in the series. He ran 19 Sprint Cup races for various organizations in 2012.
Sorenson will partner with the Curtis Key-owned team beginning with the Feb. 23 Daytona race.
"I think we've got a car that can run really well at Daytona, and - you saw it with last year's race - anything can happen there," Sorenson said. "If we position ourselves correctly, we have an opportunity for a respectable finish."
Gary Showalter will be the crew chief for the TMG team.
Sorenson began running in the Nationwide Series part time in 2004 and moved to a full-time role the following season. He finished a career-best fourth in the series standings in 2005. He raced full time in the Sprint Cup Series from 2006 through 2009.
