NASCAR team Keyed-Up scaling back

NASCAR team Keyed-Up Motorsports is scaling back its 2010 schedule.

The team, which runs the No. 90 Chevrolet Impala driven by Scott Riggs in the Sprint Car Series, will not race at Texas next week, and has yet to decide which other races it will contest.

Team owner Raymond Key said the team will continue to look for a sponsor. In the meantime, it has reduced its number of crew members, with Doug Richert remaining as crew chief.

“Doug has been a pivotal part of this organization,” Key said in a statement.

Key said the team will concentrate its efforts on the races its enters, and would not “start and park” to attract funding.

He said the reduced schedule would allow the team to continue operations, and “make us stronger, when we return to the track.”

Keyed-Up is in its first NASCAR season. It received engines, and technical and engineering support from Key Motorsports, run by Key’s older brother, Curtis.
