'NASCAR Race Hub' breaks down Jimmie Johnson's Clash troubles

Published Feb. 21, 2017 12:14 p.m. ET

Jimmie Johnson had two very similar spins coming off of Turn 4 in the Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona.

In the first, Johnson's No. 48 clipped Kurt Busch and sent him into the wall. The next time, Johnson spun on his own and hit the inside retaining wall.

Drew Blickensderfer, crew chief on the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford, broke down some of the reasoning for the issues with Johnson's car.

Whether it's the exit of Turn 4, the sun, the place Johnson was running in the field, or an in-house issue that Hendrick needs to address, they're going to be working hard to get that fixed by Sunday's Daytona 500.

Johnson qualified 14th in the Daytona 500 and starts seventh in the second Can-Am Duel race Thursday night on FS1.
