Las Vegas Friday practice results: Kyle Larson leads the charge

Speeds were high in Friday's lone round of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice for the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Under bright and sunny skies, second-year driver Kyle Larson set the early pace, turning a best lap of 191.646 miles per hour in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Chevrolet. Larson's lap of 28.177 seconds was near the track record of 27.939 seconds, set by Joey Logano here last year.

Jeff Gordon was second at 191.225 mph. He was followed by Brad Keselowski, David Ragan and Jamie McMurray.

FOX Sports 1 will televise qualifying live from Las Vegas, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.
